This Thai millionaire will give $315,000 to the man who is worthy to be his daughter’s future husband.
Every parent wanted their children to find the right person for themselves. No one knows what marriage life looks like more than our parents do. They experienced the ups and downs, the good times and bad times, even the moment when they wanted to give up on each other. But despite these circumstances that tests their marriage, they overcome it all not just for themselves but also for the sake of their children.
The 58-year-old millionaire is looking for the right successor for his durian farm. But the problem is, his daughter seems no plan of getting married. For his daughter to find her future husband, the Thai millionaire announced on Facebook that her daughter’s future husband will receive 10 million baht ($315k) as a prize.
Arnon Rodthong, the 58-year-old Thai millionaire, calls tha attention of the potential successors on Facebook and was surprised when he received 10,000 applicants. The Thai millionaire then changed tactics and decided that applicants should pass the hands-on test at the farm.
“If I wait for a son-in-law to come here and ask [to marry her], it will be too slow, so I’m asking for one right now,” Arnon announced.
The family owns the largest durian distribution farm in Thailand. Because he has no son to manage the business and he’s getting older, he wants to find the right person whom he could trust with their family business.
Karnsita, his daughter, graduated from Bangkok’s Assumption University and have a Chinese-language diploma from Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, China. The Thai millionaire said that it doesn’t matter if his future son-in-law is poor and doesn’t have any education as long as he is hardworking, thrifty, trustworthy, and don’t have any vices.
“Let’s all meet on April 1. Pack all your clothes and necessities, and be prepared to stay and work in my durian plantation for three months,” Arnon wrote.
“If there is more than one of you left (after the three months), we will extend (the stint) for another three months… until there is only one man left,” he said.
On the other hand, Karnsita was surprised with his father’s announcement on social media but was also excited who will win the test and become her husband.
“I’m not picky. I only want a man that I can bring to social events and take selfies with. I’m not very good-looking myself, so I’m okay with any appearance,” she told reporters.
Goodluck applicants! May the right man wins!
