This man donated blood to a stranger who became his wife after 11 years.
A Taiwanese man named Lian became fond of donating blood as he firmly believes that through this, he could save someone’s life. At the age of 20, she started to donate blood until today at their hometown in Hsinchu, a city in northern Taiwan.
One day, one woman with a surname Lim was involved in an accident and lost a lot of blood. She needed 8 bags of blood and 2 bags of platelets for transfusion. Thankfully, she survived the life-threatening incident.
After seven years, the glutinous rice dumpling seller met Lim while managing his family business. The two eventually fell in love with each other and tied the knot in March 2018.
While talking about the importance of blood donation and how it saves lives, Lim recalled how she was saved by donors. She then decided to track down the name of the donors to expressed her gratefulness, though it has been a decade.
However, the hospital and blood banks don’t want to give the information of the donors because of confidentiality. Lim managed to persuade one of the blood banks to reveal the names of the donors who helped her those many years ago.
To her surprised, she stumbled with a surname Lian. She gave the staff an identification number and the staff was shocked that she knew the number. Then Lim explained the man is now her husband.
Now, the two are educating people about the importance of blood donation and also to donate blood.
