Last February 1, Miss Universe Vietnam H’Hen Niê arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport and was welcomed by her Filipino fans and coach Anjo Santos with a bouquet of flowers. On her Instagram account, she expressed her thankfulness for her Filipino supporters and fans who greeted her with a warm welcome. Along with her post are photos of her hugging and taking selfies with her fans and coach.
“Mabuhay Philippines! Here we come. I’m so happy to see my coach again, Anjo Santos. Thank you so much for your warm welcome, Philippines,” she wrote.
While enjoying her meal in her hotel, Nie also posted a photo of her showing off her favorite food, “tuyo.” She said that it was the same in her country and she can finish a bowl of rice with it.
“This is cá khô, my hometown food and also tuyo in the Philippines. My favorite! I can consume a whole bowl of rice with one of this fish,” Miss Universe Vietnam said.
Nie was part of the Top 5 in the 67th Miss Universe pageant happened last December in Bangkok, Thailand. More than just having a pretty face and sexy figure, many got touched by her life story and relate themselves to her. Her inspiring story of overcoming poverty went viral online.
She works as a domestic helper when she was young and at the age of 14, she was arranged to be married but she refused. She then tried her luck in the city and took many jobs to support her studies.
Miss Universe Vietnam didn’t reveal the purpose of her visit and until when she is staying.
