This one-year-old Japanese baby is the youngest model of a hair care product.
Recently, one-year-old Japanese baby made headlines on the internet as she was chosen to be the newest spokesperson of a famous hair care brand. This is the newest campaign of Pantene in Japan that features baby Chanco. On May 2018, her mother’s post showing her thick hair gained popularity. Now, her account managed by her mother Mami Kano gained 3,000 followers.
“I’m so surprised with the reaction, but also very proud of the praise from many countries.”
Chanco was born in December 2017 with a full head of hair. Most babies born with full head of locks lose them after weeks but it’s not the case for Chanco. One of the major factors on their babies’ hair is the hormone levels in pregnant womens. Women with elevated levels of estrogen generally give birth to babies with more hair. But hair this long and thick is definitely unusual, to say the least.
Pantene Japan launched the newest “Hair We Go” campaign featuring two models with who are refreshingly different from the typical hair product prototype. One is the 50-year-old TV announcer Sato Kondo, who’s known for her grey hair, and Baby Chanco, who’s known for being the internet’s most well-coiffed baby.
Yoshiaki Okura, P&G Japan Hair Care Associate Brand Director said:
“The company felt that Chanco’s hair exhibited strong power which would make people positively move forward. We also support her mother’s positiveness to post wonderful moments with Chanco.”
When asked if she has plans on changing Chanco’s hairstyle soon and how she maintain her hair, she answered:
“I prefer to keep her hair long, and in the future, I want to try some new arrangements, like braids.”
“Brushing and just let her live as she is,” she added.
